Poor Grandpa - Story I heard from the radio

A grandfather was getting ready for the Christmas season and every year, he goes out and gets gifts for all his loved ones in his life. Feeling his old age this year and the increasing hassle it becomes to walk around the mall to go to the stores that are fully packed with people to buy his loved ones items, he decided to write checks and send them along with a Christmas card.

So with this idea settled with him, he writes all his checks to all his loved ones and put them in the Christmas cards he is sending it with. In every Christmas card he wrote, he wrote his message and "Go buy your own gift." to indicate what the written check is for. After he finished all of the cards, he mailed them.

Several days after, at a family gathering, feeling mighty of himself for his brilliant idea for Christmas, to his surprise, no one thanked him for what he did for them. He felt disappointed and upset because of this that he went home early.

At his house, he pondered why none of his loved ones thanked him for his sent Christmas gift. He felt that it was fool proof and that it would have been a great Christmas for him and his loved ones. As he was pondering this, he decided to clear out his cluttered desk where he worked at on sending the Christmas cards. As the clutter was being cleaned out, he was surprised to see what he have found.

Under all the clutter on his desk, he found all the written checks he wrote laying there on the table, all checks accounted for.

***If you remember what he wrote in the Christmas cards... it'll explain why his family members didn't Thank him***

Note:
I feel bad for this Grandfather. I guess he was hoping for an awesome Christmas but instead... it flopped. Poor guy!
